Italy is 150 years old
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, 17 March 2011 (only) has been designated 'National Day'. It celebrates the day when Vittorio Emanuele II from the Palazzo Carignano in Turin, then the seat of parliament, proclaimed the Kingdom of Italy. It was March 17, 1861. However Triveneto and Rome were missing.
